Position Overview

The Director – Data Health & Governance is a senior leadership role responsible for defining, implementing, and advancing the organization’s enterprise-wide data governance and data health strategy. This position ensures data quality, integrity, security, and regulatory compliance while enabling data-driven decision-making across the business.

The role requires close collaboration with executive leadership, IT, data science, analytics, compliance, and operational teams to align governance frameworks with organizational objectives and global regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the enterprise data health and data governance strategy aligned with business and regulatory goals

  • Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and operating models

  • Partner with senior leadership and key stakeholders to embed governance principles into business processes

  • Oversee the implementation and optimization of data governance tools, platforms, and technologies

  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, consistency, privacy, and compliance across systems

  • Develop and manage budgets, resources, and priorities related to data governance initiatives

  • Monitor global industry trends, emerging regulations, and best practices in data governance and data management

  • Represent the organization in internal forums, external governance discussions, and industry conferences

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to data health, stewardship, and accountability


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline

  • Master’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, or Business Analytics preferred

  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or enterprise data leadership roles

  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-level data governance frameworks

  • Strong knowledge of data governance principles, data quality management, metadata management, and compliance standards

  • Hands-on experience with data governance, data catalog, and data management tools

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional and geographically distributed teams

  • Excellent stakeholder management, strategic planning, and executive communication skills
