Position Overview
The Data Abstractor will be responsible for accurately reviewing and extracting clinical data from patient charts, medical records, and clinical study documentation. This role ensures data integrity, compliance with regulatory standards, and support for ongoing clinical trials and healthcare operations.
Key Responsibilities
Extract and review clinical data from electronic medical records (EMR), patient charts, and study documentation.
Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance in clinical databases and electronic data capture (EDC) systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical research associates, coders, and quality assurance staff to ensure data completeness and accuracy.
Identify discrepancies or missing information in source data and escalate as needed.
Generate and maintain status and quality reports to support clinical and operational audits.
Support compliance with ICH-GCP, GCP guidelines, and client-specific protocols.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and data validation processes.
Stay updated on clinical documentation standards, medical terminology, and regulatory requirements relevant to assigned projects.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, or related medical field.
Experience: 1 – 3 years in medical data abstraction, clinical research, or healthcare documentation.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of clinical data management, GCP, and regulatory compliance.
Experience with EDC/EMR platforms, clinical trial monitoring, and quality control processes.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain high accuracy under tight deadlines.
