Job Summary
ICON plc, a leading global provider of clinical research and healthcare intelligence, is seeking an experienced Group Lead – Clinical Data Science for its Bangalore office. In this leadership position, you will be responsible for managing clinical data teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and high-quality deliverables across global clinical trials.
This role is ideal for professionals with strong experience in clinical data management systems (CDMS) such as Rave, INFORM, or OCRDC, and a background in life sciences or healthcare data.
Key Responsibilities
Lead clinical data science teams and ensure project objectives are met within timelines and budget.
Foster a culture of continuous process improvement and regulatory compliance (ICH-GCP, local laws).
Oversee team training, timesheet compliance, and leave management.
Allocate resources effectively and manage workload distribution.
Act as the key liaison between global project teams and local CDM resources.
Guide and mentor team leads, identify training needs, and support career development.
Participate in internal/external audits and resolve operational findings.
Contribute to performance appraisals, staff development plans, and recruitment efforts.
Prepare and deliver presentations representing CDM internally and externally.
Identify and implement improvements to data management processes and systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience in clinical data management within the pharma or CRO industry.
Hands-on knowledge of at least one CDMS: Rave, INFORM, or OCRDC.
Experience in managing team leads or larger cross-functional teams.
Sound understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and ICH Guidelines.
Demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
