Clinical Data Associate I / II / III – Syneos Health

Job Summary:
The Clinical Data Associate role is responsible for end-to-end clinical data management activities, ensuring high-quality data collection, cleaning, and validation to support global clinical trials. This position offers the opportunity to work across diverse therapeutic areas, coordinate with global teams, and support regulatory-compliant data management processes in line with GCP, ICH, and CDISC standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain awareness of study-specific contract requirements and provide regular project updates.

  • Review and follow Clinical Data Management Plans (CDMPs) for assigned studies.

  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for EDC systems, edit checks, and targeted SDV configuration.

  • Enter and validate lab normal ranges and clinical database records.

  • Conduct discrepancy management, query generation, and data validation.

  • Perform Serious Adverse Event (SAE) reconciliations.

  • Support CRF/eCRF design, review, and database configuration.

  • Create data cleaning reports, QC data dictionaries, and perform post-migration testing.

  • Coordinate data from external databases (labs, IRT, PK/PD, e-diaries) with clinical databases.

  • Provide training and mentorship to junior CDAs.

  • Participate in audits, customer meetings, and sponsor updates.

  • Support Project Data Manager (PDM) in updating Data Management Plans and related documentation.

  • Contribute to database lock, freeze, and reconciliation activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or related discipline.

  • 2–5 years’ experience in Clinical Data Management (CDA I/II/III levels).

  • Strong expertise in EDC systems (Inform EDC preferred).

  • Hands-on experience in discrepancy management, vendor reconciliation, SAE, PK/PD, IVRS, and lab data cleaning.

  • Experience in study conduct and closeout, with preferred exposure to oncology and vaccine therapeutic areas.

  • Familiarity with MedDRA, CDISC, and clinical trial data standards.

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize deadlines, and work both independently and in teams.

  • Preferred startup experience and exposure to metrics/CPT.
