Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled BPO Medical Records Coding Analyst to join our healthcare coding team. This role requires expertise in multispecialty E/M outpatient coding, strong domain knowledge, and the ability to ensure accurate transformation of clinical documentation into standardized medical codes. The ideal candidate will support coding accuracy, documentation quality, and serve as a subject matter expert for junior team members.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret clinical documentation to understand patient diagnoses and services rendered.

  • Convert healthcare diagnoses, procedures, medical services, and equipment details into standardized alphanumeric medical codes.

  • Ensure consistent and uniform documentation across healthcare facilities by applying standardized coding guidelines.

  • Identify causes of injury, illness, and medical conditions using universally accepted coding systems.

  • Review clinical statements and assign accurate and compliant codes in accordance with industry regulations.

  • Support quality improvement by highlighting documentation deficiencies.

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to guide and mentor new or junior coders.


Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Healthcare BPO, specifically in E/M multispecialty coding.

  • CPC certification is mandatory.

  • Proven expertise in E/M outpatient coding, multispecialty coding, and procedure coding.

  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience using Windows-based computer applications, software tools, and navigation systems.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English for effective interaction with clients and internal teams.

  • Ability to work Monday–Friday between 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM IST, with flexibility to adjust shift timings as per client needs.

  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends based on business requirements.
