Role Overview

The Associate – Scientific Writing is responsible for developing accurate, evidence-based, and high-quality scientific and promotional content for pharmaceutical and healthcare brands. This role requires expertise in literature review, data validation, referencing styles, and adapting content for diverse healthcare audiences including physicians, pharmacists, and patients.

This opportunity is ideal for professionals with early-career experience in pharmaceutical medical writing, medico-marketing, clinical research, or regulatory environments who are looking to advance their career in scientific communications.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific Content Development

  • Conduct comprehensive literature searches using scientific databases and peer-reviewed journal sources.

  • Perform rigorous data fact-checking of promotional materials against original research publications.

  • Develop high-quality scientific and promotional content across multiple formats, including:

    • Detailing aids

    • Promotional emails

    • Brand websites

    • Web advertisements

    • Slide decks and abstracts

    • Leave-behind brochures

    • Posters and infographics

    • Journal advertisements

    • Dosing cards

Audience-Focused Medical Communication

  • Create tailored content for physicians, patients, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Ensure alignment with therapeutic area knowledge and brand strategy.

  • Adapt tone, structure, and messaging according to delivery channels (print and digital).

Documentation & Compliance

  • Apply appropriate referencing styles (e.g., Vancouver, AMA) in scientific materials.

  • Follow client and company documentation standards and regulatory guidelines.

  • Review manuscripts for scientific accuracy, language clarity, and compliance.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Gather content requirements from clients and internal project management teams.

  • Incorporate feedback effectively to meet client expectations.

  • Support customer engagement strategies through accurate and compelling scientific messaging.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in:

    • Pharmaceutical companies or healthcare communication agencies in medical services, medico-marketing, clinical research, regulatory affairs, or medical writing
      OR

    • Clinical practice experience (2–3 years minimum)

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical and medical concepts.

  • Experience in scientific content development and publication processes.

  • Proficiency in literature search methodologies and referencing standards.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and strong editing capabilities.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in journal publishing or conference presentations during academic training.

  • Knowledge of specific therapeutic areas (preferred but not mandatory).

  • Familiarity with digital content formats and omnichannel medical communications.

  • Strong networking and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Ability to stay updated with evolving scientific and healthcare trends.
