Associate Medical Director – Psychiatry | Sofia, Bulgaria

Job Summary:

IQVIA is seeking a highly experienced Associate Medical Director specializing in Psychiatry to join its clinical development team in Sofia, Bulgaria. In this strategic role, you will provide end-to-end medical leadership for global clinical trials, offering scientific and therapeutic guidance from protocol development through study close-out. Your expertise will shape the success of psychiatric drug development programs while contributing to regulatory compliance, patient safety, and scientific excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Global Medical Advisor on psychiatric trials and clinical programs

  • Provide protocol clarification, site guidance, and eligibility assessment

  • Review trial protocols, IDBs, CRFs, and clinical study reports (CSRs)

  • Deliver therapeutic area training to internal project teams

  • Participate in Investigator Meetings and sponsor presentations

  • Conduct and clarify adverse event and SAE case reviews

  • Collaborate with pharmacovigilance on AE coding and AOSE analyses

  • Support regulatory submissions through robust clinical oversight

  • Participate in business development and client-facing medical advisory activities

  • Remain available for 24/7 protocol-related support during study execution


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • MD or equivalent medical degree with valid license in practicing country

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical medical experience

  • At least 4 years of experience in clinical trials or industry (CRO, pharma, or biotech)

  • Specialty board certification in Psychiatry (mandatory)

  • Strong knowledge of global clinical trial regulations (ICH-GCP, FDA, EMA)

  • Demonstrated expertise in psychiatric therapeutic area landscape

  • Experience in medical monitoring, SAE review, protocol development

  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
