Team Overview

The Value, Evidence, and Outcomes (VEO) team at Lilly plays a pivotal role in accelerating patient access to medicines and transforming healthcare delivery. We focus on high-impact science in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) and real-world evidence (RWE) to support drug development, health technology assessments (HTA), and clinical decision-making. We are looking for dynamic, creative, and collaborative individuals to join our VEO team.

Position Summary

The Associate Manager / Senior Associate Manager - Economic Modeling will work within cross-functional teams to develop HTA-related documents and facilitate the development of scientific publications. This role will involve economic modeling for HTA dossiers, cost-effectiveness analyses, RWE reports, and various scientific papers, such as abstracts, posters, and manuscripts. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of high-quality economic models and related documents.

Key Responsibilities

1. Document Preparation & Management (75%)

  • Plan, write, edit, and coordinate the development of economic models and HTA documents, including cost-effectiveness reports, RWE reports, systematic literature reviews, and network meta-analysis reports.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data in economic models.
  • Revise economic models and reports based on feedback from internal and external reviewers.
  • Manage multiple document types and ensure smooth development and timely delivery of reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align timelines and content for model and document development.

2. Knowledge and Skills Development (15%)

  • Enhance knowledge in economic modeling, programming skills, and related software platforms.
  • Stay updated on health outcomes research, including RWE studies, economic evaluations, and patient-reported outcome studies.
  • Understand the broader therapeutic area, compound-specific considerations, and the external healthcare environment to tailor models to meet country-specific requirements.

3. Knowledge Sharing & Consultant Support (5%)

  • Provide informal coaching to colleagues by sharing technical expertise and answering questions.
  • Contribute to process improvements and best practice sharing across teams.
  • Serve as a recognized technical expert in economic model and document development.

4. Customer Focus (5%)

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to adapt economic models based on their requirements.
  • Support team-building, reward recognition, and diversity initiatives.
  • Provide mentoring and training to cross-functional teams, ensuring the successful adoption of best practices.

Basic Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., economics, public health, life sciences).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in drug development or health outcomes research.
    • At least 1 year of experience in medical, scientific, or technical writing.
    • Experience developing economic models, including cost-effectiveness analyses and HTA-related documents.
  • Skills:
    • Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and analytical abilities.
    • Excellent project management and time management skills.
    • Proficient in MS Excel with Visual Basic for economic modeling.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex scientific information.
    • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within and across teams.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Project management experience.
  • Expertise in therapeutic areas such as immunology, diabetes, oncology, or clinical pharmacology.
  • Familiarity with Real-World Evidence generation methods.
  • Experience with scientific publications (e.g., abstracts, posters, manuscripts).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
