Compensation:
Actual compensation depends on education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated salary range is $145,500 - $213,400.

Purpose:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) program meets the needs of Scientific and Clinical Experts (SEs/CEs) by providing in-depth scientific information. MSLs engage with SEs/CEs, facilitating scientific exchange and shaping future healthcare by addressing important clinical and scientific questions. This position focuses on interactions with SEs/CEs primarily in North Los Angeles.


Primary Responsibilities:

Scientific & Clinical Knowledge:

  • Deliver cutting-edge scientific knowledge to address SE/CE needs.

  • Continuously update expertise on products, disease states, and standard of care.

  • Establish credibility as a trusted, unbiased source of medical and scientific information.

Full Spectrum SE/CE Support:

  • Understand HCP needs and provide relevant support to improve patient outcomes.

  • Connect SEs/CEs with Lilly resources and research opportunities.

  • Support clinical development by delivering disease state information and accelerating evidence generation.

Field Execution, Geo Management, and Productivity:

  • Analyze customer data and plan engagements through face-to-face and virtual channels.

  • Implement a strategic territory plan, leveraging analytical tools for execution.

  • Collaborate with other field-based colleagues to provide a coordinated experience.

Strategic Vision and Leadership:

  • Communicate actionable customer/clinical insights to internal teams.

  • Demonstrate strategic agility, adaptability, and effective decision-making.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams while embracing change and utilizing innovative resources.


Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Scientific/Clinical Acumen:

  • Advanced degree in health sciences (PharmD, MD, PhD) with 2-3 years of relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience.

  • OR a Master’s/Bachelor’s degree (BSN, RPh, PA, NP) with 5+ years of clinical, research, or industry experience.

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.


Preferences:

Interpersonal, Presentation, and Planning Skills:

  • Advanced presentation and computer skills, including literature identification.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects independently.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and relationship-building abilities.

  • Resilience in managing complex challenges.

Other Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with health systems, academic communities, and medical research processes.

  • Familiarity with digital platforms to engage HCPs virtually.

  • Knowledge of cardiometabolic health (e.g., cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity) is strongly preferred.


Location and Travel Requirements:

  • Applicants should reside within the geography and near a transport hub.

  • Field-based position with up to 80% travel, including weekends.
