Associate Clinical Admin Coordinator – Las Vegas, NV

Compensation / Salary: $16.00 – $27.69 per hour (based on experience and local labor market)


Job Summary

Optum is seeking an Associate Clinical Administrative Coordinator to support daily healthcare operations, including appointment scheduling, patient registration, medical records management, and front office clerical duties. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth patient interactions, efficient referral processing, and high-quality administrative support within a clinical setting.


Responsibilities

  • Answer and route incoming calls, assist callers, and manage messages.

  • Handle patient registration, appointment scheduling, and cashiering tasks.

  • Scan, file, and manage medical correspondence and records release requests.

  • Build new referrals from network providers and ensure proper documentation.

  • Process referrals, forward for MD review, or cancel incomplete requests.

  • Manage paperwork, faxing, scanning, and telephone-based administrative work.

  • Provide face-to-face support for patients in the front office.

  • Perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (or higher).

  • 1+ years of experience in customer service within a healthcare or medical office environment.

  • 1+ years of experience with medical office processes and referral handling.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EMR systems or electronic health records.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency.
