Job Overview
The Assistant Manager – Quality Management Systems (QMS) is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and enhancing quality and food safety compliance within the manufacturing facility. The role ensures adherence to corporate, divisional, and regulatory standards while supporting operational excellence and new product introductions.

This position focuses on implementing quality systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing audits, and maintaining food safety standards in alignment with ISO, FSSC, and applicable regulatory frameworks. The role also provides periodic feedback to stakeholders and supports continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management Systems Implementation
Oversee the implementation of global policy requirements into site-level standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operational practices.
Ensure quality assurance documentation meets corporate, divisional, and regulatory standards while maintaining system effectiveness and usability.
Develop and maintain quality system documentation to support new product introductions and ensure timely execution.

Compliance Monitoring and Gap Analysis
Conduct gap analysis across corporate policies, divisional procedures, site-level documentation, and regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement action plans to address compliance gaps and mitigate operational risks.
Ensure compliance with corporate quality policies and evolving regulatory standards.

Audit Management and CAPA Oversight
Oversee internal audit programs and global corrective and preventive action (CAPA) compliance schedules.
Manage document control activities and maintain quality system records.
Maintain quality system documentation, including document change control, audit records, management review documentation, and mock recall processes.

Regulatory and Quality Documentation Support
Compile materials required for regulatory submissions, license renewals, and product registrations.
Stay updated on regulatory procedures and quality system updates.
Prepare and submit periodic quality metrics and performance reports to divisional stakeholders.

Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with ISO, FSSC 22000, HACCP, BIS, and FSSAI requirements within the manufacturing environment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain food safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Support the implementation of new management systems and global quality requirements.

Training and Quality Awareness
Conduct employee training programs on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Quality Management Systems, and food safety standards.
Promote quality awareness and compliance culture across the organization.

Education Requirements
Postgraduate degree in Dairy Science, Food Science, or a related discipline.
Alternatively, a Master’s degree in a relevant science field with significant experience in quality functions.

Experience Requirements
Minimum 10–12 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or quality management systems within the food, nutrition, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing industry.
Strong experience in regulatory compliance, audit management, and quality system implementation in a regulated environment.

Required Skills and Competencies
Comprehensive understanding of quality management systems and food safety standards.
Knowledge of ISO, FSSC 22000, HACCP, BIS, and FSSAI regulatory requirements.
Experience in audit management, documentation control, and CAPA processes.
