🎯 Primary Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of 25–30 certified medical coders, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to company standards.

  • Staff Development:

    • Recruit, orient, and train team members.

    • Maintain a safe, compliant, and motivating work environment.

  • Performance Management:

    • Track timeliness, quality, and productivity metrics.

    • Conduct coaching, counseling, and performance appraisals.

    • Address and resolve performance or behavioral issues.

  • Quality & Compliance:

    • Enforce quality and customer service standards.

    • Analyze and resolve quality concerns, identify trends, and recommend system improvements.

  • Operational Efficiency:

    • Develop, coordinate, and enforce policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

  • Employee Engagement:

    • Drive engagement and retention by communicating company goals, empowering team members, and providing continuous feedback.

  • Professional Development:

    • Stay updated through workshops, publications, networking, and participation in professional organizations.

  • Policy Compliance:

    • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and directives, including possible changes in shifts, teams, or work locations as required by business needs.


🎓 Required Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate in any discipline.

  • Certification: Certified Coder (through AAPC or AHIMA).

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 18+ months as a Team Leader or Assistant Manager.

    • Experience managing a team of 15+ coders.

    • Strong background in Medical Coding.

  • Core Skills:

    • Performance and quality management

    • Coaching and supervision

    • Teamwork and leadership under pressure

    • Analytical and decision-making skills

    • Effective communication and feedback delivery

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

    • Familiarity with office equipment (copier, fax machine, etc.)
