Job Purpose:

Lead and manage a team of certified coders to ensure high-quality coding standards, maintain performance metrics, drive employee engagement, and enforce compliance with policies, procedures, and quality standards.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 25–30 certified coders; maintain staff through orientation, training, and ongoing support.

  • Ensure a safe, secure, and legally compliant work environment.

  • Manage performance: monitor timeliness, quality, and productivity metrics.

  • Plan, monitor, and appraise job results; coach, counsel, and discipline employees as needed.

  • Develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

  • Maintain quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards; analyze and resolve quality issues; identify trends and recommend improvements.

  • Stay updated with professional knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and professional societies.

  • Drive employee engagement and retention by sharing the company vision, empowering employees, and providing regular feedback.

  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and directives, including flexibility in work location, team, or shift assignments.


Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate in any discipline.

  • Certified coder from AAPC or AHIMA.

  • Minimum 18 months experience as a Team Leader or Assistant Manager.

  • Experience managing a team of at least 15 employees.

  • Strong background in medical coding.

  • Experience in performance management, coaching, supervision, quality management, and fostering teamwork.

  • Ability to handle pressure and provide constructive feedback.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and basic office equipment.
