Job Title: Assistant Manager – Collections
Location: Hyderabad, Telangana, India

Job Summary:
Optum is seeking an Assistant Manager – Collections with a strong background in U.S. healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM). The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing AR follow-up, denial management, team performance, and process improvements. This role demands leadership in training, metric monitoring, and client relationship management, with a focus on delivering accurate data and achieving department revenue goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation and delivery of claims data.

  • Achieve and maintain performance metrics across the team within the Network Intelligence group.

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams including U.S.-based Team Leads, Supervisors, and Directors.

  • Coordinate with the team to identify and implement process improvement opportunities.

  • Monitor and report team performance metrics; develop and implement incentive programs.

  • Deliver and facilitate both new hire and ongoing training programs.

  • Align team objectives with departmental revenue and business goals.

  • Review and update training materials regularly based on performance and quality analysis.

  • Identify root causes of errors and formulate corrective action plans.

  • Analyze trends in errors and defects, and develop targeted improvement plans at both team and individual levels.

  • Handle administrative responsibilities as assigned.

  • Comply with all company policies, including flexibility in work location, shift changes, and evolving operational directives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 5+ years of experience in collections within various RCM domains (e.g., infusion, ambulatory, professional claims).

  • 3+ years in AR follow-up and denial management.

  • 2+ years of team handling experience with a minimum team size of 15.

  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. healthcare RCM, particularly provider hospital A/R processes.

  • Proven experience in performance management, people and client management.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, reporting, and MIS tools.

  • Ability to work night shifts and on Indian holidays.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently handle onshore customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six Sigma training/certification.

  • Experience in process transition management.
