Role Overview

The Assistant Company Secretary will support the Company Secretary in ensuring corporate governance and secretarial compliance across the organization. This role offers practical exposure to corporate law, regulatory frameworks, and governance processes while supporting board activities, statutory filings, and corporate secretarial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Company Secretary in drafting agendas, minutes, and documentation for board and committee meetings.

  • Prepare and file statutory returns and documents with regulatory authorities, including MCA, SEBI, and other applicable bodies.

  • Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, 2013, and other relevant laws and regulations.

  • Support preparation of legal documents, including resolutions, agreements, and statutory filings.

  • Manage board logistics, maintain statutory books, records, and registers.

  • Assist in preparing annual reports, corporate governance reports, and compliance documentation.

  • Participate in organizing annual general meetings (AGMs) and other corporate meetings.

  • Provide support in corporate governance processes, mergers, acquisitions, and other legal matters.

  • Conduct legal research and monitor updates in company law and regulatory requirements.

  • Promote a culture of safety, environment, and compliance in alignment with Syngene’s EHS and quality standards.

Experience Required

  • 1–3 years of corporate secretarial experience, preferably in listed companies.

Educational Qualification

  • Qualified Company Secretary (CS) from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal/document management tools.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Understanding of corporate governance principles, statutory compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
