Purpose of the Job:

The Alliances Physician for Immunology is a key member of the Medical Affairs Alliances team. This role involves strategic planning and supporting the launch and commercialization of immunology products to meet patient needs. The Alliances Physician for Immunology provides scientific expertise and serves as a resource for cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Lilly’s internal policies. The role is responsible for ensuring that all activities align with the global/IBU brand team’s strategic priorities.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Thought Leader & Immunology Specialist Support:

  • Anticipate and address scientific information needs of stakeholders (payers, patients, healthcare providers) pre, peri, and post-launch.
  • Lead data analyses and clinical/health outcomes research to answer stakeholder inquiries.
  • Develop and implement medical strategies to support commercialization, collaborating with global Medical Affairs, brand teams, and cross-functional partners.

2. Medical Affairs Planning Support:

  • Leverage disease/product knowledge to support launch readiness and educate the medical network.
  • Contribute scientific input to develop, review, and approve promotional materials for the regional brand team.

3. Clinical Planning & Research Support:

  • Represent regional clinical needs in strategy development, protocol design, and clinical planning.
  • Ensure clear communication of risks in informed consent documents.
  • Collaborate with clinical research teams on trial design, execution, and reporting.

4. Scientific Data Dissemination & Education:

  • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and global policies during data dissemination.
  • Support the planning of scientific meetings, symposia, and advisory boards.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with scientific experts and thought leaders locally, nationally, and internationally.

5. Regulatory Support:

  • Participate in the development and review of local labeling in collaboration with global development and regulatory teams.
  • Provide medical expertise to regulatory scientists and participate in advisory committees.

Key Job Requirements:

  • Expertise in Immunology: Deep knowledge of immunology and its treatments.
  • Scientific Data Interpretation: Ability to interpret and communicate technical medical data effectively.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Understanding of immunology business with strong planning and execution skills.
  • Cross-functional Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent organizational, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel to customer meetings, congresses, and international events.
  • People Management: Ability to manage and lead teams as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD) or relevant clinical qualification preferred.
  • Previous experience in immunology, clinical research, or pharmaceutical industry is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and clinical research practices.
