About RIRU (Respiratory & Immunology Research Unit):

  • Established in 2024 to advance novel molecular targets based on human genetic associations:

  • Covers multiple therapy areas, including neurodegenerative, immune, and metabolic diseases:

  • Neurodegenerative portfolio includes Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and ALS projects:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and oversee a Neurology Therapeutic Area (TA) portfolio with a focus on product differentiation and technical success:

  • Act as single point of accountability for neurology disease area strategy:

  • Engage with internal leaders, academic thought leaders, regulators, investigators, and patient groups:

  • Guide early and late clinical leads in developing optimized translational and clinical strategies:

  • Provide Medical Governance, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and ethical guidelines:

  • Identify, recruit, and develop clinical talent for the neurology pipeline:

  • Ensure high-quality clinical data and submissions, including regulatory filings:

  • Oversee clinical data strategies, integrating data science and digital tools for neurology programs:

  • Manage resource allocation across neurology assets, clinical trials, and business development activities:

Work Experience Required:

Minimum Experience:

  • 10+ years in translational medicine and clinical research, with leadership in neurology clinical development:

  • Proven experience across Ph1 (first-in-human) to Ph3 (registrational trials), including regulatory submissions (IND, NDA, BLA):

  • Expertise in designing and executing clinical strategies, including adaptive and platform trials:

  • Experience in safety risk assessment, pharmacovigilance, and regulatory interactions:

  • Strong track record of leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization:

  • Experience working with external strategic partnerships and joint oversight committees:

Preferred Experience:

  • 15+ years in neurology clinical development, with a PhD in addition to an MD:

  • Expertise in integrating digital health technologies, data science, and AI in clinical research:

  • Strong experience in organizational transformation and change management:

  • Leadership in multi-stakeholder collaborations (academic, regulatory, and corporate partnerships):

Education Required:
