Position Summary

As an Undergrad Intern in R&D Knowledge Management, you will help connect people, insights, and information across Amgen’s research and development ecosystem. The role involves leveraging AI and digital tools to improve knowledge flow for over 10,000+ scientists and clinicians, ensuring they have access to the right information at the right time.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with global stakeholders across R&D, digital, and learning teams.

  • Co-design, test, and deliver AI assistants — including roleplay simulators, digital coaches, and recommendation engines.

  • Develop the knowledge infrastructure that powers AI-driven learning and information-sharing systems.

  • Support user experience (UX) research and UI design for KM tools and solutions.

  • Create engaging multimedia and knowledge content using AI and creative storytelling.

  • Contribute to adoption and cultural transformation in how Amgen employees access and share knowledge.


Basic Qualifications

Applicants must meet all of the following:

  • At least 18 years old.

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program at an accredited institution.

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent).

  • Completed at least one year of undergraduate study prior to internship start.

  • Must remain enrolled in a full-time degree program after internship completion.

  • Must not be employed at the start of the internship.

  • Must be physically located in the U.S. during the internship.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

  • Curious, adaptable, and self-motivated with a learning mindset.

  • Interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI), especially prompt engineering and generative AI.

  • Comfort working with digital tools in fast-paced, evolving environments.

  • Strong storytelling, research, and creative problem-solving abilities.

  • (Note: Coding experience is not required, but familiarity with digital tools and AI concepts is beneficial.)
