Position Overview

As a Trainee Research Associate – Synthesis, you will play a key role in the synthesis, purification, and characterization of chemical intermediates, contributing to drug discovery efforts in a collaborative research environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Synthesize, purify, and characterize chemical intermediates.
  • Deliver small to large quantities of novel chemical entities for drug discovery.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic research team to drive chemistry projects forward.
  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge of basic organic chemistry and reaction mechanisms.
  • Gain proficiency in Name Reactions and functional group transformations.
  • Apply practical experience in thin-layer chromatography, column purification, and extraction.
  • Develop a solid understanding of NMR, IR, and Mass Spectrometry analysis.
  • Adhere to laboratory safety practices and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills to present findings and collaborate with team members.

Person Profile

Qualification:

  • M.Sc. in Chemistry/Organic Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry or related field
  • M. Pharma (Specialized in Organic Synthesis) is also acceptable

Experience:

  • 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field (internship or project experience is a plus)

Desired Skills & Attributes

  • Strong theoretical knowledge of chemistry concepts, including organic synthesis and reaction mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as chromatography, purification, and extraction.
  • Good understanding of molecular structures and spectral analysis (NMR, IR, Mass Spectrometry).
  • Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, dynamic research environment.
  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly, with a commitment to scientific safety practices.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration within the team.
