Work Schedule & Environment

  • Hours: Per diem, typically 20–29 hours/week (hours not guaranteed)

  • Environment: Office and lab with PPE required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.)

  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift 40 lbs, standing for full shifts


Job Summary

The Research Technician provides technical and non-technical support for Phase I clinical trials. This includes performing procedures such as blood collection, ECGs, vital signs monitoring, and other study-specific tasks, ensuring accurate data collection and smooth study execution.


Key Responsibilities

Technical Duties

  • Perform automated vital signs measurements, ECGs, urine and blood collections, and other technical procedures.

  • Collect study-specific data to support clinical trial objectives.

Non-Technical Duties

  • Interact with study subjects in a professional manner during all in-house and outpatient studies.

  • Conduct subject walks, safety monitoring, and other non-technical procedures.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.


Education & Qualifications

  • High School / Secondary School diploma or equivalent.

  • Relevant formal academic or vocational qualifications.

  • Previous experience in clinical or laboratory procedures is a plus, but 0–1 years’ experience is acceptable if willing to be trained.

  • Equivalency of education, training, or directly related experience may be considered.


Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to be trained in all Phase I technical procedures.

  • Professional interaction with study subjects and staff.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and perform successfully under pressure.


Work Environment & Requirements

  • Communicate effectively with diverse groups.

  • Work upright or standing for extended hours.

  • Lift and move objects up to 25 lbs.

  • Use and learn standard office and lab equipment proficiently.

  • Exposure to healthcare or laboratory hazards (including infectious agents) is possible.
