Overview

At Insmed, we are expanding our team with authentic and experienced Therapeutic Specialists who share our commitment to transforming patient lives. We seek individuals with a strong clinical aptitude and a track record in successfully launching new products within the biotech/pharma industry. This role requires exceptional portfolio selling skills and the ability to build strategic relationships with key customers in the rare disease market. Based in Baltimore West, Maryland, this position offers a dynamic field-based opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and execute a comprehensive sales plan to drive growth in the current rare disease market.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of disease states, product offerings, customer profiles, and competitive landscapes within the orphan/rare and specialty drug markets.
  • Demonstrate high performance driven by integrity, trust, and a commitment to compliance.
  • Foster an entrepreneurial spirit, taking ownership and accountability for achieving individual and company goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Market Access, Patient Support) to achieve shared business objectives in a compliant manner.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with emerging thought leaders and healthcare professionals (HCPs) to advance understanding and adoption of Insmed products.
  • Serve as an expert on Insmed products, disease states, and market access issues, staying informed on key trends.
  • Conduct all business activities in strict accordance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Uphold Insmed’s exceptional reputation through ethical conduct and high-performance standards in all interactions.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years in biotech/pharma product promotion, with a proven track record in launching successful products.
  • Experience in portfolio selling preferred; specialty disease or rare/orphan disease experience highly desirable.
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated analytical skills to inform strategic planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, adept at working with diverse audiences and influencing cross-functionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CRM).

Travel

  • Up to 30% travel required, potentially higher depending on geographic responsibilities.

Salary Range

Insmed offers a competitive salary range of $146,000.00 to $170,000.00 per year, commensurate with the candidate’s education, experience, and the role’s scope.
