Job Summary

ICON plc, a global leader in healthcare intelligence and clinical research, is seeking a Technologist II to join its central laboratory in Singapore. This role supports clinical testing, instrument calibration, and quality control activities within a regulated medical laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of laboratory experience and a background in biomedical or medical laboratory science. Key Responsibilities

  • Process clinical samples and issue lab reports per standard operating procedures and turnaround time agreements

  • Maintain, calibrate, and validate assigned instruments and assays

  • Track inventory and ensure timely procurement of reagents and lab supplies

  • Follow quality control processes to ensure data integrity and test accuracy

  • Escalate abnormal results and instrument errors to senior lab staff

  • Maintain records of testing, quality checks, and calibration activities

  • File and archive raw data and sample tracking information

  • Coordinate with engineers for instrument servicing when required

  • Participate in laboratory audits, training, and process improvement initiatives


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Haematology, Immunology)

  • At least two years of relevant clinical laboratory experience

  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), quality assurance, and laboratory compliance protocols

  • Familiarity with laboratory instruments and LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to laboratory improvements

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
