Job Overview
The Associate Director, Global Medical Affairs is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing complex, cross-functional medical affairs projects while serving as both Client Manager and Project Lead. This position plays a key role in driving global medical affairs strategies, overseeing medical content development and MLR review processes, and advancing operational excellence across multiple client engagements. The role requires strong leadership, innovation mindset, and the ability to manage diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced, global environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex Medical Affairs projects including medical content development, MLR review, and consulting engagements

  • Serve as the primary client contact ensuring timely delivery, quality, and strategic alignment with client objectives

  • Oversee cross-functional teams comprising internal resources and external consultants

  • Contribute to the development and execution of global Medical Affairs strategies and solution offerings

  • Drive thought leadership initiatives including white papers, case studies, publications, and marketing content

  • Support innovation and digital transformation initiatives within Medical Affairs operations

  • Optimize processes, enhance operational efficiency, and implement performance metrics

  • Collaborate with global stakeholders across medical, regulatory, and commercial functions

  • Build, mentor, and manage high-performing Medical Affairs teams

  • Strengthen client relationships, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and business growth opportunities

Experience Required

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industry

  • Proven experience in project and client management, including vendor and technology oversight

  • Hands-on experience across Medical Affairs domains such as Medical Information, Medical Communications, HEOR, and Evidence Generation

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously

  • Experience working in agile and fast-paced environments is preferred

Educational Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific or medical degree such as PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent

  • Strong expertise in Medical Affairs operations, MLR review processes, and content development

  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and client management skills

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
