Role Overview
The Associate STEM Content Analyst – Chemistry will work on patent analysis and scientific content extraction for Derwent Innovation, focusing on identifying novel chemical information from patent documents and coding it according to editorial standards.
Key Responsibilities
Patent & Scientific Content Analysis
Analyze chemical patent documents to extract novel scientific information
Apply DWPI coding standards and editorial conventions
Interpret chemical reactions, structures, and formulations
Chemical Data Processing
Work with:
Chemical nomenclature
Organic and inorganic chemistry concepts
Catalysts and additives
Chemical reactions and formulae

Meet production volume and quality targets
Ensure accuracy and consistency in patent indexing

Required Qualifications
M.Sc in:
Chemistry
General Chemistry
Organic Chemistry
Pharmaceutical Chemistry
Freshers preferred or candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience
Required Skills
Strong understanding of:
Chemical nomenclature
Chemical reactions and structures
Inorganic chemistry
Catalysts and additives
Familiarity with chemical drawing software such as:
ISIS Draw
Preferred Skills
