Position Overview

This role is part of the Safety Operations team within Global Patient Safety (GPS). As a subject matter expert, the Team Lead manages one or more areas within Safety Operations, overseeing daily functions and acting as a liaison between team members and management.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of assigned staff and/or outsource vendors.
  • Provide direct mentorship, performance management, and make staffing decisions.
  • Supervise case processing activities and resolve day-to-day questions or issues.
  • Participate in and support quality control management.
  • Process individual case safety reports as needed.
  • Monitor compliance activities, including quality control metrics.
  • Manage NCR/CAPA ownership.
  • Facilitate regular communication with the team to ensure alignment with departmental priorities.
  • Conduct internal and external training sessions for GPS.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and collaborative skills to foster a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently under strict deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Proven ability to multitask and reprioritize workloads for self and others.
  • Excellent knowledge of Global Safety Databases (e.g., Argus, ARISg).
  • Medical and clinical knowledge.

Education and Experience

  • Degree in nursing, pharmacy, or a related science field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Pharmacovigilance.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
