Syneos Health is seeking a Director of Biometrics to lead and grow our India-based biometrics operations, aligning regional strategy with global objectives. This pivotal leadership position oversees biostatistics, programming, and data science functions while driving quality, compliance, innovation, and operational excellence across all biometrics activities. You will act as the senior-most biometrics leader in India, guiding department heads, shaping process improvements, and fostering a culture of performance, collaboration, and continuous development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic and operational leadership for all biometrics activities in India, ensuring delivery quality and global alignment.
Oversee the India biometrics leadership team, managing performance, succession planning, and professional growth.
Translate global biometrics strategy into actionable regional plans, ensuring process harmonization and compliance with regulatory standards.
Lead the development and refinement of SOPs, WIs, and templates in line with clinical research best practices.
Drive training programs, onboarding, and credentialing for biometrics professionals, ensuring upskilling and certification compliance.
Address quality issues through root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging methodologies like Lean Six Sigma.
Collaborate with global leaders in Biostatistics, Programming, and Data Science to optimize delivery and operational efficiency.
Lead workforce planning, talent acquisition, and resource allocation to meet both regional and global business goals.
Champion innovation and encourage solution-driven thinking to improve client satisfaction and operational performance.
Maintain up-to-date expertise on industry trends, CDISC standards (SDTM, ADaM), statistical methodologies, and regulatory submission requirements.
Represent the India biometrics function in high-level stakeholder engagements and strategic discussions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Biostatistics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or related discipline.
12–15 years of progressive biometrics experience in clinical research, with at least 5 years in senior leadership or global/regional management roles.
Proven track record in managing large, geographically distributed biometrics teams within CRO, pharma, or biotech sectors.
Expertise in statistical programming tools (SAS, R, Python) and enterprise-level clinical systems (Medidata, Oracle Clinical, Veeva).
Strong understanding of clinical trial processes, statistical methodologies, and regulatory submission frameworks (FDA, EMA).
Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Solid business acumen, budget management experience, and operational excellence mindset.
