About the Role

We are seeking a Team Lead to join the Safety Operations team within Global Patient Safety (GPS). In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert and manage a specific area within the team. You will oversee daily operations, facilitate communication between management and team members, and ensure effective case processing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operational Management:
    Oversee daily operations of assigned staff and/or outsource vendors, ensuring efficient workflows.

  • Team Oversight:
    Provide mentorship, manage performance, and make staffing decisions for team members.

  • Issue Resolution:
    Support case processing and address day-to-day questions and issues that arise.

  • Quality Control:
    Participate in and manage quality control activities to maintain high standards.

  • Expertise Contribution:
    Engage in individual case safety report processing as needed, providing your expertise.

  • Compliance Monitoring:
    Take part in compliance-related activities, including tracking quality control metrics and owning NCR/CAPA processes.

  • Team Communication:
    Ensure regular communication about departmental priorities with team members.

  • Training:
    Conduct training sessions for both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Additional Responsibilities:
    Undertake other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Communication Skills:
    Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

  • Interpersonal Skills:
    Strong collaborative skills to foster a positive team environment.

  • Independence:
    Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and changing priorities.

  • Multitasking:
    Proficiency in multitasking and prioritizing workloads for yourself and others.

  • Priority Management:
    Skilled in establishing and proceeding with priorities for yourself and your team.

  • Database Knowledge:
    In-depth knowledge of Global Safety Databases (e.g., Argus, ARISg).

  • Medical Knowledge:
    Strong background in medical and clinical practices.

Education and Experience

  • Degree:
    Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, Science, or a related field.

  • Experience:
    Minimum of 3 years in Pharmacovigilance, with supervisory experience preferred.
