Role Overview

Thermo Fisher Scientific is hiring an experienced HPLC & IC Field Service Engineer to support customers across North India. This customer-facing technical role is responsible for installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Ion Chromatography (IC) systems. The position involves on-site service, remote support, and close collaboration with customers to ensure high equipment uptime and satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, servicing, and breakdown repairs on HPLC and IC instruments

  • Install, commission, and validate new HPLC and IC systems at customer sites

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to resolve instrument-related issues

  • Conduct customer demonstrations and training to ensure safe and effective equipment use

  • Prepare and submit detailed service reports immediately after service visits

  • Ensure adherence to turnaround time, response time, repair rate, and service quality metrics

  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction in line with service agreements

  • Take ownership of service outcomes and contribute to CAS and business performance goals

  • Comply with company safety policies, regulatory standards, and site-specific requirements

  • Travel extensively across North India as per service assignments


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline

  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in servicing HPLC and/or Ion Chromatography instruments

  • Proven experience working in laboratory, pharmaceutical, food testing, environmental, or chemical industries


Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Strong hands-on expertise in HPLC and Ion Chromatography systems

  • Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions

  • Familiarity with laboratory environments and quality standards

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer-handling abilities

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet service timelines


Work Environment

  • Combination of office, laboratory, and customer site environments

  • Exposure to fluctuating temperatures during field service activities

  • Regular travel across assigned regions
