Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Lead – Medical Affairs (Oncology) to oversee scientific, ethical, and operational excellence in all medical affairs activities. This role combines people management, scientific leadership, and strategic support for product commercialization, clinical trials, medical information, sales force training, and stakeholder engagement.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in Oncology therapy area, including new product launches, and be capable of delivering high-quality medical guidance across multiple business functions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and tactical inputs to Product Management for ethical promotion of assigned products

  • Develop, review, and approve promotional and educational materials, ensuring compliance with SOPs, regulations, and industry codes

  • Support clinical research projects, including protocol development, Investigational New Drug (IND) submissions, and local clinical studies

  • Deliver medical support for safety reporting, product labeling, and adverse event management

  • Train and mentor sales force and medical staff on product knowledge, clinical data, and therapeutic areas

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including regulatory affairs, quality, IT, new product planning, market research, and alliance management

  • Provide medical and scientific expertise for product registration, early access programs, and commercial evaluations

  • Serve as a primary Medical Affairs contact for internal and external stakeholders

  • Manage Medical Affairs staff, fostering a culture of learning, development, and high performance

  • Support budgeting, resource allocation, and expense control for the Medical Affairs function


Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Postgraduate degree in Pharmacology or other medical specialty

  • Graduate degree in Medicine also considered

  • Advanced degrees (MD, PhD) preferred

Experience:

  • 6–8 years in Medical Affairs, including at least 3 years in Oncology Therapy Area

  • Experience with new product launches in Oncology

  • Familiarity with clinical trial design, regulatory submissions, and product commercialization

Skills & Attributes:

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry operations, including drug discovery, R&D, commercialization, and applicable regulations

  • Expertise in clinical pharmacology, medical sciences, and therapeutic area knowledge

  • Proficiency in clinical trial methodology, study design, and interfaces

Behavioral Skills:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and medical writing skills

  • Strong analytical thinking, medical judgment, and decision-making

  • Proven interpersonal, networking, and influencing abilities
