The Clinical Development Centre – India (CDC-India) is part of the Clinical, Medical, and Regulatory (CMR) department. CDC-India provides strategic support for clinical trials, early portfolio development, and capability building for cross-functional teams.


Role Overview

We are seeking a Clinical Medical Manager in Hyderabad to drive clinical development strategy, scientific engagement, and trial execution excellence in India. This role offers an opportunity to combine medical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership to influence clinical outcomes and early pipeline development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead scientific strategy and execution for assigned clinical trials and early portfolio initiatives.

  • Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Therapy Area Leads, and Trial Managers on trial planning, start-up, recruitment, and retention.

  • Provide scientific input into site feasibility, selection criteria, and country-level portfolio allocation.

  • Conduct site visits to discuss trial conduct, protocol adherence, and gather insights from site staff.

  • Engage with Principal Investigators (KOLs) to optimize trial methodology, mitigate recruitment and retention challenges, and strengthen scientific relationships.

  • Act as a local subject matter expert on protocol and product information, addressing medical queries promptly.

  • Monitor trial performance metrics and implement proactive solutions to address scientific and operational issues.

  • Build organizational readiness by delivering scientific knowledge and training to cross-functional teams.

  • Support pre-launch activities, introducing Medical Affairs colleagues to KOLs in new therapy areas.

Travel Requirement: Periodic site visits across assigned regions in India and to the India Head Office as required.


Required Qualifications

  • Medical Degree (MBBS + MD) in a relevant discipline.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in clinical or medical affairs strategic roles within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical drug development, ICH-GCP guidelines, regulatory requirements, and clinical trial methodology.

  • Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and influence cross-functional teams.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with proficiency in presenting complex scientific data.

  • Willingness to adopt data-driven approaches and leverage technology, including AI tools, in clinical and medical activities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in early portfolio development and trial execution strategy.

  • Knowledge of therapy-specific clinical landscapes and KOL engagement strategies.
