Position Summary:
The Supervisor of Central Sterile Processing oversees the critical processes of decontaminating, sterilizing, storing, and distributing patient care supplies and equipment. This position ensures compliance with best practices and regulations, and contributes to the development of policies, procedures, and quality standards for the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the sterilization and decontamination processes, ensuring compliance with health standards.
  • Supervise inventory control, sterilization processes, and the distribution of supplies and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain departmental policies, standard operating procedures, and quality workflows.
  • Manage the department’s budget, effectively allocate resources, and lead a strong, learning-focused team.
  • Maintain statistical records to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Foster positive relationships with patients, customers, and team members, promoting a collaborative environment.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in inventory management, sterile processing, or medical center management, with progressive responsibility and leadership experience.
  • Certifications:
    • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required
    • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of AORN or AAMI, FDA, OSHA, and EPA regulations preferred.
    • Proficient in operating Central Sterile Processing equipment (e.g., case carts, sterilizers, washers, surgical instruments).
