Job Summary

Novo Nordisk is hiring a Senior Research Associate – Formulation Scientist to join its Drug Product Research team in Lexington, MA. This full-time on-site role is ideal for scientists experienced in injectable drug formulation, biophysical characterization, and early-stage pharmaceutical development. You will work across peptides, proteins, small molecules, and bioconjugates, supporting therapeutic programs through innovative formulation design and advanced analytical techniques.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare peptide and protein injectable formulations for in vitro and in vivo studies

  • Select appropriate buffers, excipients, and surfactants

  • Conduct stability and biophysical characterization studies

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on formulation strategies

  • Stay current on advancements in drug delivery technologies

  • Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot analytical lab equipment

  • Implement automated high-throughput screening techniques

  • Maintain detailed experimental documentation in ELN

  • Conduct lab work safely and in accordance with cGMP and GLP standards


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological, biochemical, or pharmaceutical sciences required

  • 4+ years of relevant technical experience or Master’s degree in related field

  • Strong expertise in biophysical characterization and formulation development

  • Experience with techniques like spectroscopy, calorimetry, and light scattering

  • Proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, and experimental documentation

  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Familiarity with cGMP, GLP, ELN, and regulatory pharmaceutical standards
