Job Summary:
As a Sr. Laboratory Technician at Baxter’s Round Lake Technology 1 Container Engineering Laboratories, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and testing of medical devices and containers, directly contributing to Baxter’s mission of saving and sustaining lives. This role involves performing critical functional testing, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and mentoring fellow technicians.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform independent functional testing on medical devices and containers.

  • Operate laboratory instrumentation (Instron, Microscope, etc.) and utilize computer systems for data collection.

  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with SOPs, FDA, GLP, and cGMP regulations.

  • Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance production efficiency and generate cost savings.

  • Conduct laboratory audits and maintain inventory of supplies.

  • Perform equipment calibration and maintenance.

  • Document testing in notebooks or data sheets, ensuring complete and accurate quality records.

  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment in compliance with safety and GMP standards.

  • Support process improvement initiatives using LEAN methodologies (5S, Kaizen).

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and management.

  • Provide mentorship to other technicians.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred).

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of GLP, cGMP, and Electronic Laboratory Notebooks preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability.

  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.


Workplace Flexibility:

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Estimated Salary: $56,000 – $77,000 annually

  • Bonuses: May be eligible for discretionary bonuses
