Job Summary

Lilly is hiring a Sr. Director – Global Medical Affairs to lead the Cardiometabolic Health Business Unit in Indianapolis, Indiana. This leadership role requires a board-certified clinician with deep expertise in obesity and endocrinology to drive medical strategy, support global drug development, and ensure compliance with GVP and ICH-GCP standards. The ideal candidate will collaborate across regulatory, clinical, and commercial functions to execute Phase 3b/4 studies and expand real-world evidence for innovative obesity treatments. This is a high-impact opportunity to influence patient care globally in a Fortune 500 pharma company.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead medical strategy and lifecycle planning for cardiometabolic and obesity-related products.

  • Guide Phase 3b/4 clinical trial design, execution, and real-world evidence generation.

  • Collaborate with development, translational science, and commercial teams on clinical strategy.

  • Serve as medical lead in regulatory filings, label updates, and interactions with agencies.

  • Represent Lilly in congresses, symposia, and advisory boards.

  • Provide medical review for protocols, publications, and global educational programs.

  • Ensure compliance with global regulatory and safety standards (e.g., FDA, GVP, ICH-GCP).

  • Mentor and train medical personnel and support cross-functional scientific communications.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree with board certification (preferably in Endocrinology & Metabolism).

  • 10+ years of clinical experience with at least 5 years in pharmaceutical medical affairs.

  • Deep knowledge of obesity-related disease states and the incretin drug class.

  • Strong understanding of drug development, clinical trials, and real-world evidence.

  • Experience with regulatory submissions and interactions with health authorities.

  • Proficient in GCP, ICH guidelines, and safety reporting standards.

  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
