Position Overview

Jazz Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Neuro-Oncology to join its U.S. Medical Affairs field team covering the Western United States. This is a remote, field-based role requiring significant travel.

The MSL will serve as a scientific expert and trusted medical partner to key opinion leaders (KOLs), academic institutions, and healthcare professionals, supporting scientific exchange, evidence generation, and medical strategy execution in neuro-oncology.

Candidates with senior-level MSL experience may be considered for an expanded role based on business needs.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific Engagement and KOL Development

  • Build and sustain peer-to-peer scientific relationships with KOLs and healthcare providers in neuro-oncology.

  • Execute territory medical plans aligned with U.S. Medical Affairs strategy.

  • Gather and communicate clinical insights, research trends, and unmet medical needs to internal stakeholders.

  • Deliver high-quality scientific presentations at hospitals, academic centers, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and medical congresses.

  • Support investigator-sponsored trials, company-sponsored studies, and collaborative research initiatives.

Medical Expertise and Scientific Leadership

  • Maintain deep, current knowledge of disease state, Jazz products, pipeline assets, and competitive landscape.

  • Serve as a credible and objective scientific resource for the medical community.

  • Respond to unsolicited medical inquiries in compliance with regulatory and company standards.

  • Represent Jazz Pharmaceuticals at national, regional, and local scientific meetings.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Commercial, Clinical Development, Market Access, and other cross-functional teams to ensure coordinated key account management.

  • Contribute to the development and execution of U.S. Medical Affairs plans and local tactical initiatives.

  • Support internal training initiatives, including sales and medical education programs, while maintaining scientific integrity.

Compliance, Reporting, and Professional Conduct

  • Adhere to all applicable regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry codes of practice.

  • Accurately document scientific interactions and report adverse events and product complaints per company procedures.

  • Maintain timely, accurate field activity reporting.

  • Demonstrate ethical behavior and act as an ambassador for Jazz Pharmaceuticals’ values and mission.


Required Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific or clinical degree: PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent, with minimum 3 years of experience in Oncology or Rare Diseases
    OR

  • Licensed healthcare professional (RN, NP, PA, CNP, or equivalent) with a Master’s degree and minimum 5 years of oncology or rare disease clinical experience

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in a comparable industry or clinical role

  • Strong background or demonstrated experience in neuro-oncology (preferred)

  • Proven ability to communicate complex scientific information to diverse audiences

  • Strong strategic thinking, planning, and organizational skills

  • High level of autonomy, motivation, and adaptability

  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Proficiency with digital tools and virtual engagement platforms

  • Fluent in spoken and written English


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting new product launches in a field medical role

  • Experience managing multiple therapeutic areas or molecules

  • Clinical trial site support experience, including investigator engagement and patient recruitment

  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements for field-based medical roles


Travel and Work Requirements

  • Field-based role requiring 60–70% travel

  • Must reside within 60 miles of a major airport

  • Valid driver’s license required


Compensation and Benefits (US-Based Candidates Only)

  • Base Salary Range: USD 154,400 – 231,600 per year
    (Compensation determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity)
