Role Overview:
Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to act as the scientific and medical authority for ADC products and therapeutic areas in Oklahoma, West Texas, and New Mexico. This field-based role is responsible for engaging healthcare professionals and key stakeholders, providing expert scientific guidance, facilitating knowledge exchange, and supporting professional development initiatives.

The MSL will enhance ADC’s scientific credibility by collaborating with national and regional thought leaders, supporting research initiatives, scientific publications, and medical inquiries. The role also partners with the US commercial team to ensure accurate dissemination of scientific information while maintaining high ethical and medical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with thought leaders and external experts to strengthen ADC’s scientific presence.

  • Facilitate research collaborations and educational initiatives at academic and clinical centers, responding to medical and scientific information requests.

  • Work independently while collaborating cross-functionally with in-field and corporate teams.

  • Serve as a primary contact for thought leaders in the assigned geographic area to support safe and effective use of ADC products and therapeutic guidance.

  • Deliver scientific presentations to healthcare providers, both individually and in group settings, with emphasis on Tier 1 and Tier 2 thought leaders.

  • Identify and engage qualified thought leaders for educational and advisory roles, including Advisory Boards, Congresses, and Symposia.

Compensation:

  • Base salary: $111,300 – $222,700. Pay may vary based on location.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health sciences field required.

  • Advanced degrees (PharmD, MD/DO, NP/DNP, PA, PhD) preferred but candidates with relevant undergraduate degrees and strong experience will be considered.

  • Clinical licensure and relevant board certification as per state and national regulations.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in health sciences or medical affairs preferred.
