Role Overview:
Abbott is seeking an experienced Senior EP Field Clinical Specialist to support the Electrophysiology (EP) Business Unit. This field-based, remote role is open to candidates located in the Central and Western United States and requires up to 80% travel.

The Specialist will provide technical and clinical expertise in EP therapies, clinical trial support, investigator engagement, protocol compliance, and field representation. This individual will act as a subject matter expert for clinical studies, troubleshooting, product testing, advisory boards, and presentations while collaborating with cross-functional teams across Abbott.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide field support for clinical research enrollment and EP procedures.

  • Serve as a clinical and technical expert for Abbott stakeholders, physicians, and research staff.

  • Develop and maintain productive clinical territories, including site knowledge and engagement strategies.

  • Support site qualification, contract/budget negotiations, and study initiation.

  • Train clinical staff on protocol requirements and device technologies.

  • Promote patient enrollment and ensure protocol compliance, addressing challenges proactively.

  • Collaborate with Clinical Scientists, study teams, and Clinical Site Leads on study execution and trial data quality.

  • Serve as a liaison to cross-functional teams, including R&D, Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Commercial, providing clinical input and feedback.

  • Act as a scientific interface with healthcare professionals and support corporate product education, training materials, and presentations.

  • Share best practices and provide mentoring to other Field Clinical Specialists.

  • Use critical thinking to identify issues, develop action plans, and enhance site performance and capabilities.

  • Participate in national initiatives to deliver value beyond primary responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biological Sciences, or related field; relevant EP/Cardiology certification acceptable.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant cardiovascular clinical experience.

  • At least 2–3 years supporting clinical trials or investigational studies in cardiovascular/EP therapies.

  • Proven expertise in EP lab or Cath Lab protocols, procedures, and technical troubleshooting.

  • Experience in site qualification, enrollment strategy, and protocol compliance.

  • Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and influencing skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to travel up to 80% during active trial enrollment.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Compensation:

  • Base salary range: $75,300 – $150,700 (location-dependent).
