Role Summary

Serves as Lead Clinical Programmer to manage and support project deliverables and timelines.

Key Functions:

  • Design, write, validate, and maintain software per specifications

  • Develop & validate applications for data capture and processing

  • Act as first-level SME supporting EDC programming, reporting, and processing tools

  • Provide support for internally and externally hosted applications

  • Manage vendor integrations and application issues


Core Responsibilities

  • Utilize Medidata Rave, Oracle OC/RDC, Oracle Inform, SAS, and related tools for EDC programming

  • Generate & maintain documentation:

    • Specifications

    • Validation reports

    • Annotated CRFs

    • Database builds, edit checks, imports/exports, custom reports

  • Lead and coordinate development activities on project teams

  • Provide technical support to programmers, analysts, and data managers

  • Serve as SME for Oracle Inform, Medidata Rave, Oracle RDC, SAS, reporting tools, custom functions

  • Perform system integration, application updates, UAT

  • Ensure quality deliverables with senior review of study/program outputs

  • Participate in audits and sponsor reviews

  • Review study budgets and manage scope change orders

  • Monitor applications for workflow alerts/system errors

  • Lead 3–10 concurrent studies depending on complexity and resources

  • Provide training, leadership, and guidance to junior staff

  • Represent programming team at Quick Start Camps (QSCs)


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent combination of education/experience)

  • Experience: 5+ years in clinical programming with leadership responsibilities

  • Key Expertise:

    • 4+ years in Custom Function Programming

    • 3+ years in Migration (Post-DB changes) & Impact Analysis

    • Strong Medidata Rave / iMedidata experience:

      • eCRF design

      • Edit check programming (including dynamic edits)

      • Global libraries

      • eCRF PDF generation

  • Technical Skills:

    • PL/SQL, SAS, C#, or VB (preferred)

    • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic environments

    • Experience in matrix-structured organizations preferred

  • Other: Ability to travel up to 25%
