Purpose:

The primary goal is to execute AbbVie’s brand strategy within the assigned territory, meet sales performance targets, and ensure customer needs are at the center of all activities. The position requires adherence to AbbVie’s business conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Performance & Targets:

    • Achieve or exceed sales performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and financial targets.
    • Use SMART objectives to plan calls and evaluate sales performance.
    • Handle objections effectively to close sales calls and drive results.
  2. Customer Relationship Management:

    • Proactively meet customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships.
    • Create win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers to drive long-term success.
    • Develop and execute a plan to optimize coverage and frequency for key customers.
  3. Market Intelligence & Strategy:

    • Build a comprehensive understanding of the market landscape, customer needs, and competitive dynamics.
    • Share valuable market insights with the in-field team and brand team to anticipate changes and optimize strategy execution.
  4. Brand Strategy Execution:

    • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition to healthcare providers.
    • Develop relationships with disease state experts and key advocates to enhance brand performance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, pharmacy, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: A proven track record of success in sales, with solid presentation and communication skills.
  • Skills:
    • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, and product knowledge.
    • Strong business acumen and proficiency in using business tools.
    • Ability to identify customer behavior and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
    • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment and work collaboratively across teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in pharmaceutical sales, particularly within specific therapeutic areas (e.g., immunology, oncology, neuroscience).
  • Experience with physician/account-based selling, marketing, or managed healthcare is preferred.

  • Travel: The role requires up to 20% travel.
  • Salary: The salary range for this role is between $78,500 - $192,500, depending on experience and location.
