Description:
Join St. Elizabeth Healthcare as a Specialty Pharmacy Oncology Clinical Pharmacist in Edgewood, KY. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to provide direct patient care in a specialty pharmacy setting, with a focus on optimizing oncology medication therapies. You will play a vital role in improving patient outcomes, safety, and cost utilization, and provide top-quality services while maintaining a high standard of patient care and pharmacy operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and monitor patient treatment medications for appropriateness according to clinical guidelines and patient-specific criteria.
  • Perform professional review and verification of prescription filling and orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Provide drug information to patients, medical staff, and nursing staff.
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy interns and technicians, ensuring the completion of tasks and adherence to pharmacy practices.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory, order management, and contribute to financial goals by following accounting principles.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Hospice, Social Service, and provider offices, to provide coordinated care.
  • Stay current with professional competency requirements and pharmacy practice standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, including those from the State Board of Pharmacy and the DEA.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate from an NABP-accredited pharmacy college.
  • Licensure: Current US pharmacist license in the state of employment.
  • Experience: Previous pharmacy experience, with a focus on specialty pharmacy and oncology preferred.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and customer service skills. Good communication and critical thinking abilities.
