Director, Proposals/RFIs – Remote (USA)
Job Summary:
Syneos Health is hiring a Director, Proposals/RFIs to lead proposal development and strategic pricing initiatives for its biopharmaceutical services division. This fully remote role is ideal for experienced pharma professionals with leadership experience in clinical trial proposal management, budget oversight, and client engagement. Drive global proposal operations that support life-saving therapies from lab to market.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage cross-functional proposal teams supporting clinical development, medical affairs, and commercialization
Set vision and strategic objectives for proposal operations; oversee departmental workflows and resource allocation
Serve as the primary liaison between the proposals team and internal/external stakeholders
Supervise, mentor, and develop team members; handle recruitment, training, and performance reviews
Ensure timely, high-quality proposal submissions aligned with global regulatory and client expectations
Direct proposal defense and budget justification meetings with clients as needed
Drive continuous process improvements and contribute to innovative proposal methodologies
Provide strategic oversight for large-scale, high-priority, or key client proposals
Represent the proposals function in internal leadership and cross-functional process improvement initiatives
Manage compliance with corporate policies, local regulations, and departmental SOPs
Deliver department progress and KPI reports to senior management
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or life sciences (MBA or MS preferred)
Significant pharmaceutical/CRO industry experience in proposal management or related roles
Proven leadership experience, including line management and cross-functional collaboration
Strong understanding of clinical operations and global clinical trial processes
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with proposal tools and systems
Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and analytical skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven, matrixed environment
