Senior Medical Editor – Remote (USA)

Location: Remote – USA
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $62,000 – $108,600 annually


Job Summary:

Syneos Health is seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Editor to lead editorial review of clinical, regulatory, and scientific documents. This fully remote role involves copyediting, quality control, process optimization, and mentoring of junior editors. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards like the AMA Manual of Style, FDA/EU guidelines, and client specifications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Copyedit and quality-check clinical and regulatory documents per AMA Manual of Style and sponsor guidelines

  • Serve as project lead for complex or high-volume editing projects

  • Monitor timelines and ensure deliverables are met within budget

  • Represent editorial on study teams and cross-functional project groups

  • Mentor, train, and advise junior editors and writers across the global team

  • Provide technical guidance on compilation, formatting, and review standards

  • Participate in medical writing deliverables including document compilation

  • Contribute to continuous process improvements and policy updates


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in life sciences, medical writing, or related discipline

  • Proven experience in medical editing or regulatory medical writing

  • Expertise in AMA Manual of Style and familiarity with FDA/EU regulatory requirements

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Experience with large cross-functional teams and complex project management

  • Proficiency with editing tools and software (e.g., MS Word, Adobe Acrobat)

  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a remote environment
