Position Overview

As a Medical Editor, you will play a critical role in reviewing and copyediting both promotional and medical (non-promotional) materials to ensure compliance with Customer Information Quality (CIQ) and Medical Content Approval (MCA) requirements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure content accuracy, clarity, and alignment with quality standards, driving the speed and efficiency of the review process.

Key Responsibilities

๐Ÿ“‹ Copyediting: Edit promotional and non-promotional medical materials, ensuring alignment with CIQ and MCA standards.
๐Ÿ” Collaboration: Work with Marketing, Medical, and other teams to review, approve, and manage content. Attend review meetings as required.
๐Ÿ“ Consistency Check: Ensure consistency across related materials, following provided style guides and checklists.
๐Ÿ“š Scientific Accuracy: Review scientific content for accuracy, ensuring proper use of scientific terminology and correct grammar and style.
๐Ÿ“‘ Reference Review: Verify compliance of references to AMA Manual of Style or brand-specific style guides.
๐Ÿ”ง Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous process improvements and ensure compliance with Lilly procedures.
๐Ÿ“ˆ Timely Delivery: Manage multiple tasks effectively, ensuring timely completion and high-quality standards.

Qualifications

๐ŸŽ“ Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in scientific, health, communications, or health-related fields.
๐Ÿ’ผ Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience as an editor, copyeditor, or proofreader in the pharmaceutical, marketing, or advertising industries.
  • Familiarity with style guides like AMA Manual of Style or Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Understanding of scientific/medical terminologies.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work across teams.

Additional Preferences

  • In-depth familiarity with the US CIQ/MCA framework and tools like Veeva Vault, Wrike, or MS Project.
  • Experience in Medical Affairs communications, such as slide decks, patient, or HCP materials.
  • Knowledge in clinical pharmacology or therapeutic areas like neuroscience, oncology, cardiovascular, immunology, or endocrinology.
