🎯 Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Medical Coding Specialist with 2–4 years of experience to join our hybrid team.
The role ensures accurate coding of medical records, contributing to efficient healthcare operations and supporting Cognizant’s mission to improve patient care.
This position operates during day shifts and does not require travel.
⚕️ Key Responsibilities
Accurately code medical records to support healthcare operations and billing processes.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to verify and clarify coding information, ensuring compliance with standards.
Analyze medical documentation and assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations.
Provide feedback and recommend improvements to enhance coding processes and efficiency.
Utilize healthcare products to streamline coding operations and improve data management.
Support development and implementation of coding policies and procedures for consistency and quality.
Participate in training sessions to stay informed about changes in coding practices and healthcare regulations.
Contribute to coding resources and tools for team assistance.
Assist in preparing reports and data analysis to support decision-making and planning.
Monitor coding performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate coding systems with other healthcare applications.
