🎯 Job Summary
Cognizant is seeking a skilled Medical Coding Specialist with 2–3 years of experience in healthcare products and medical coding.
This role operates primarily in a day shift hybrid model and focuses on accurate coding of medical records to ensure data integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency, supporting the company’s mission to enhance healthcare services.
⚕️ Key Responsibilities
Ensure accurate coding of medical records to maintain data integrity and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to verify and clarify coding information.
Analyze medical records and assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and industry standards.
Support the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures.
Review and resolve coding discrepancies to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
Participate in quality assurance activities to improve coding accuracy and efficiency.
Assist in training and mentoring junior coding staff as required.
Utilize healthcare software to input and manage coded data efficiently.
Communicate effectively with team members and departments to ensure a seamless workflow.
Contribute to reports and presentations on coding activities and outcomes.
Work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment to meet project deadlines.
