Job Summary

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer conducts general and vascular ultrasound examinations to provide accurate anatomical, pathological, and functional data. This role is integral to supporting physicians in the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of patients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and document general and vascular ultrasound examinations.
  • Evaluate the quality and completeness of imaging results.
  • Ensure proper patient positioning, preparation, and comfort during procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians to review and interpret findings.
  • Maintain equipment and adhere to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Apply knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9 coding, and relevant clinical practices.

Qualifications

  • Licensure/Certification:

    • RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) or RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) certification required.
    • BLS-HCP certification required.
  • Education:

    • Completion of an accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.
    • Associate Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
  • Experience:

    • At least 1 year of experience required (3+ years and vascular exam experience preferred).
  • Technical Skills:

    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Familiarity with ICD-9 medical coding and medical terminology.
