Job Purpose:

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based medical professional responsible for providing deep content knowledge about disease states, Lilly and competitor compounds, and current issues within the therapeutic areas they represent. The MSL facilitates scientific exchange and provides valuable insights that help shape Lilly’s research strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Scientific Knowledge Maintenance and Communication:

    • Engage in continuous learning to maintain high levels of technical expertise within the relevant therapeutic area.

    • Provide trusted, unbiased, and up-to-date medical and scientific knowledge to customers, answering complex scientific questions.

  2. Customer Engagement and Support:

    • Spend significant time field-based, engaging in two-way dialogues with scientific experts.

    • Provide advanced disease state and product information to address customer queries and connect scientific experts with Lilly resources or business partners.

  3. Strategic Vision and Leadership:

    • Synthesize complex data to communicate meaningful clinical insights to internal teams.

    • Collaborate across functions, contributing to medical planning and strategic decision-making within the affiliate.

  4. Territory Ownership:

    • Prioritize and plan strategically to maximize territory efficiency, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.

    • Take personal accountability for results and demonstrate sound judgment in all activities.


Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in health sciences (PharmD, MD, PhD in a medically related field).

  • Previous MSL experience or field-based experience with Scientific Experts and Key Opinion Leaders is highly desired.

  • Experience in providing complex information to meet customer needs.

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time within the assigned geography, including weekends.

  • Strong intellectual curiosity about the relevant field of science/medicine.

  • Proficiency in communicating complex scientific content effectively, both verbally and in writing (Arabic and English).

  • High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills for relationship building and networking.


Other Skills:

  • Advanced presentation and computer skills, including literature identification expertise.

  • Self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

  • Effective strategic thinking, critical analysis, and decision-making skills.

  • Resilience in managing complex challenges and collaborating across functions.
