Job Overview

Sanofi is looking for a Senior Scientific Writer to develop high-quality medical and scientific communication content across therapeutic areas.

This role involves end-to-end management of publication and medical education materials, collaboration with global stakeholders, and mentoring junior writers. The position sits at a mid-senior level, focusing on execution, content quality, and growing subject matter expertise.


Key Responsibilities

1. Scientific Content Development

Create complex scientific and medical content independently.

Develop publication materials such as manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and slide decks.

Manage end-to-end content development including documentation and approvals via PromoMats/iEnvision.

Ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance of all deliverables.


2. Publication Planning & Execution

Support medical communication strategies for assigned therapeutic areas.

Assist in publication needs analysis and planning.

Implement publication plans and associated deliverables.

Contribute to building subject matter expertise in assigned domains.


3. Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with global scientific communication teams and medical departments.

Interact with healthcare professionals for content development.

Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Deliver customized scientific communication outputs.


4. Team Support & Mentorship

Coach and review content created by junior scientific writers.

Support knowledge sharing and skill development within the team.

Contribute to development of best practices in scientific writing.


5. Process & Compliance

Ensure adherence to Good Publication Practices (GPP) and internal SOPs.

Work with vendors and cross-functional teams to deliver outputs.

Use advanced tools and techniques to improve content delivery.

Continuously enhance processes based on feedback.


6. Performance & Delivery

Deliver high-quality content within agreed timelines.

Support identification of publication opportunities and contributors.

Ensure alignment with strategic and operational goals.


Required Skills

Scientific Writing & Domain Knowledge

Experience in medical/scientific writing in pharma, healthcare, or academia.

Knowledge of publication development (manuscripts, abstracts, posters).

Understanding of therapeutic areas and clinical data.


Communication & Stakeholder Skills

Strong written and verbal English communication.

Ability to work with healthcare professionals and global teams.

Strong stakeholder management capabilities.


Project & Organizational Skills

Ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines.

Strong organizational and time management skills.
