1. Role Overview

The Senior Medical Information Manager 1 is responsible for delivering high-quality, scientifically accurate, and compliant medical information services across global markets.

The role supports healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders by providing evidence-based responses to complex medical queries and developing standardized medical information content for global and local use.


2. Core Responsibilities

A. Medical Information Response Management

  • Provide timely and accurate responses to escalated medical inquiries from global country affiliates

  • Address product-related and disease-area-specific questions across therapeutic areas

  • Ensure responses are:

    • Scientifically balanced

    • Evidence-based

    • Compliant with regulatory, safety, and legal standards

    • Clearly written with appropriate medical language


B. Medical Information Content Development

  • Develop and maintain core MI documents such as:

    • Global Guidance Documents (GGDs)

    • Medical Information Q&A documents

  • Ensure content quality, consistency, and alignment with internal MI standards

  • Apply appropriate referencing and scientific rigor in all deliverables


C. Process & Standards Improvement

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of Medical Information processes

  • Support improvements in efficiency, productivity, and global standardization

  • Provide input on MI tools, templates, and governance frameworks


D. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Medical Affairs, Safety, Regulatory, and Country Affiliates

  • Support alignment of medical messaging across global and local teams

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency of scientific communication


3. Required Qualifications

Education

  • Healthcare professional degree or equivalent healthcare-related qualification

  • Preferred: Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) in life sciences or healthcare


Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years in Medical Information or Medical Communications within pharma

  • Experience in related Medical Affairs roles with significant MI responsibilities

  • Experience delivering MI services at both global and local levels

  • Familiarity with Novartis or similar pharmaceutical therapeutic areas
