Position Overview

The Senior Scientific Writer – HEVA plays a pivotal role in developing high-quality scientific and value communication materials aligned with global HEVA strategies. This position involves creating manuscripts, posters, abstracts, slide decks, value dossiers, and other strategic communication deliverables to support access, reimbursement, and evidence communication for global product teams.

The role requires strong domain expertise in health economics, scientific communication, publication standards, and cross-functional collaboration.


Key Responsibilities

Content Development & Publications

  • Develop HEVA communication materials including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, presentations, and value decks.

  • Align deliverables with global HEVA strategy, Core Value Dossiers, and AMCP Dossiers.

  • Maintain and update Core Value Decks summarizing key HEVA evidence and product value.

  • Ensure compliance with publication SOPs, Good Publication Practice, and HEVA processes.

  • Innovate HEVA communication formats to optimize impact and support market access decisions.

  • Manage end-to-end publication workflows through iEnvision (formerly Datavision/Matrix).

Therapeutic & Scientific Expertise

  • Develop in-depth understanding of therapeutic areas relevant to the product portfolio.

  • Support HEVA, RWE, and Scientific Communication teams by conducting publication-needs analysis.

  • Act as a subject-matter expert for medical and value communication in assigned therapeutic areas.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with global and local HEVA teams, RWE leads, and scientific communication groups to develop tailored deliverables.

  • Interact with healthcare professionals and external experts to support content development.

  • Partner with vendors to ensure timely delivery of assigned scientific communication materials.

People & Performance

  • Mentor and guide junior scientific writers, supporting skill development and content review.

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across global business units.

  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality HEVA communication materials aligned with project plans.


Required Qualifications

Education

  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Public Health, Health Economics, Epidemiology, or a related scientific discipline.

  • Medical degree is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in scientific writing, HEOR/HEVA content creation, medical communication, or related areas in pharma, healthcare, or academia.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of health economics, epidemiology, public health, or value assessment methodologies.

  • Experience with publication planning and Good Publication Practice.

  • Understanding of value dossiers, health technology assessment requirements, and evidence synthesis.

  • Proficiency with publication tools (iEnvision/Datavision/Matrix).

  • Strong scientific writing, editing, literature review, and analytical skills.

Soft Skills

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
